About Éclair Academy
Éclair Academy is the official academy of Éclair CMS. It exists for a simple reason: a tool is only useful if you know how to use it. Here, you learn Éclair from A to Z, with short, accurate, easy-to-follow lessons, whether you're a craftsperson, a freelancer, a developer or an agency.
Who is behind Éclair Academy?
Thierry Gustin
Creator of Éclair CMS. He designs fast, secure sites that are ready for AI answer engines, for freelancers, small businesses and agencies.
Éclair CMS
A database-free PHP CMS under 1 MB, released under the MIT license on GitHub, with built-in SEO, GEO, security and AI.
Three languages
Every lesson exists in French, English and Spanish, with admin screenshots in the right language.
How are the lessons written?
Each lesson starts from Éclair's source code and its official guide. Menu names are those of the admin, figures are those of the code, and any fast-changing information (prices, hosting plans, the Claude and ChatGPT interfaces) is dated and comes with its source. When a piece of information couldn't be verified, it isn't published.
- Accuracy: nothing made up, official sources and check dates.
- Teaching: where to click, what should happen, and what to do if it doesn't.
- Restraint: light pages, readable on mobile, with no ads or trackers.
A site built with Éclair
This site itself runs on Éclair CMS 1.8. The lessons are Éclair pages, the paths are organized as subpages, the translations are linked together, and the editor's SEO, GEO and Design analysis was used to review every page. The theme templates were customized to filter menus by language and show navigation between lessons, as explained in the Customize the theme templates lesson.
The Atkinson Hyperlegible typeface, designed by the Braille Institute for people with low vision, was chosen so that every lesson stays readable for everyone, on every screen.

Questions about the academy
Who can use Éclair Academy?
Everyone, free of charge and without signing up. The lessons are designed for complete beginners as well as developers and agencies.
Can I share the lessons with my clients?
Yes, by sharing links to the pages. In fact, it's one of the uses recommended in the Scaling Éclair in an agency lesson: your clients learn to use their site at their own pace.
Which version of Éclair do the lessons cover?
Éclair 1.8, released on November 1, 2026. The release history sums up what's new in each version.
